Australia’s entire allocation of the Proto trim of the Nissan Z is spoken for, according to the automaker. The model is effectively sold out after customers snatched up every single reservation ahead of the model’s arrival in the country.

“The Z is the ultimate expression of Nissan’s sports car credentials and we expected demand to be strong for this incredibly special vehicle,” said Adam Paterson, Nissan Australia’s managing director. “I’m excited to confirm that all Australian production of Z Proto spec is now sold-out.”

Exclusively available in Ikazuchi Yellow with a Super Black roof, the Nissan Z Proto spec comes with bronze 19-inch wheels, yellow brake calipers, and plenty of premium equipment. Although Nissan didn’t reveal exactly how many of the models it would be selling in Australia, it did say that supply was “strictly limited,” unlike the car’s other trim levels.

Priced at AU$80,700 ($57,824 USD at current exchange rates), Nissan will be pleased that it has managed to sell out of the top trim model as it suggests that the appetite for the sports car is voracious.

Those still looking for a new Z, but who aren’t fussed about the Proto spec, can still order one. Prices for the Z start at AU$73,300 ($52,522 USD) and, as in other markets, Nissan’s sports car significantly undercuts the Toyota Supra in terms of price.

All trim levels come with the same 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that makes 400 hp (298 kW/405 PS) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque and is mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

“All future owners of the Z have plenty to look forward to, with the fastest, most powerful, and most exciting Z car ever; set to arrive in Australia very soon,” said Paterson.
